Well, at our ages it's particularly difficult to see the country we have admired for a loooooong time being sabotaged by a group of ignorant lowlifes. Having grown up as an Army Brat, I learned from the outset to respect our country and the law. I'd LOVE to go march on Washington, but the best I can do right now is contribute to some organizations who are on the front lines of the 40+ lawsuits against the lowlifes. I also write newsletters (rants!) here on Substack which helps relieve the stress and I watch Rachel Maddow every evening to hear the TRUTH. Then I paint or draw in my little studio which keeps me sane!!💙
First, big hugs, my friend. I read an article today about Woodburn schools deciding not to protect their students from ICE. I couldn't help but start crying, imagining these babies being so confused and full of fear, not knowing if they were going to be reconnected with their parents. It's absolutely barbaric. So I started praying every member of this heinous administration and movement sees the face of God in every innocent child and convicted by the Spirit of Yahweh. I have shifted my “work” message to empowerment and courage, hoping to inspire more people to take a stand. Is it enough? Maybe not, but it’s what I can do now. Until I’m called to do something more. Sending love ❤️
Another great "do something" substack is Chop Wood/Carry Water.
Yes it is. And the app 5calls makes letting your reps know how you feel.
Husband and I are taking an impromptu trip to the beach today. Eager to kick the concerns out of my head for a bit.
Excellent idea! I’m going to hike up to the Pittock Mansion and take a gander at the view.

If you download the list of Thirty Things you can do, I think you'll discover many more simple actions you can take. Once again, here's the link. https://thewhitepages.net/p/thirty-lonely-but-beautiful-actions

Thanks Teresa. I was looking down the list of Thirty Things you can do, which has some truly great ideas. Out of curiosity I followed the wheat-pasting link and discovered how easy it is to do postering. The website has lots more cool how-to ideas as well. https://crimethinc.com/2017/07/18/a-field-guide-to-wheatpasting-everything-you-need-to-know-to-blanket-the-world-in-posters
