I’m totally with you, but when Harris wins; Yes! Say welcome Madam President, who might help us heal the rift? There seem to be a whole lot of people unhappy with the status quo of American Politics. Psychology is a soft science, but perhaps exploring our natural tendency towards tribalism and division might be a start?? https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/16/books/review/good-reasonable-people-keith-payne-tribal-michael-morris.html

I think it begins with trust. We believe certain things to be true, and when we get info that seems off, we become curious and dig deeper, looking for sources. When we aren't equipped to judge our sources because of lack of education and curiosity, as well as mis/disinformation we don't know who to trust.

The terror of another Trump presidency (ie: the loss of our democracy) is gut wrenchingly real... and so apparently is the deep seated fear of change that many Trumpers feel. "Make America Great" signs have now morphed into "Take America Back". I wonder from whom? Fellow Americans? Some seem to think it will take us back to simpler times but of course it will just take us back to when racism, sexism, homophobia, conformity, nationalism, and every other form of bigotry and discrimination was acceptable.

Indeed. As if those good ol days were great for everyone. I’m sure they would categorize me and many people I know as “the enemy within.”

Thank you Joy. Keep telling it like it is. Hopefully the left will win but it may be a long drawn out battle. So we need your voice.

Thanks, Bonnie. I know I’m preaching to the choir, but maybe the soprano is married to someone still on the fence…
