This pissed grey-headed (though mine has actually turned to a lovely platinum color!) will be protesting in Nashville (AGAIN!) with my two daughters this Saturday! I'm pretty sure this will become a good habit! Go get 'em, Joy. Trump is the WASTE and Musk is the FRAUD!!

Reading your map of my emotions was a boost to my grouch confidence this morning. Each phrase hit the truth gong in my soul. The. Resistence are witness is soulless, mean spirited, destructive and so many kinds of terrifying that it seems they find new kinks in cruel and unusual by the hour. Evil barely covers the situation. And the shame can be paralysing. Where do we start to effectively turn the tide? One word , one thought, one poster or page at a time. Hear me! I hear you. We must not be silenced. Here rightness HAS to matter. Trust isn’t a catchword, it’s a vow. Creation and destruction are not the same. Justice is not a word, it’s a work in progress. And we must pursue it as the soul of the ‘happiness’ we see as our constitutional right.

Thanks for sharing your story. We must all know each others stories. Tell our own. And care for them.

My children like to tease that I’ve always been an activist; sticking up for friends, classmates or co workers. I’ve helped people write letters protesting negative judgments at work. Spoke up for students at my oldest’s elementary school when radical religious parents (only 2 couples out of the whole school!) got the school Halloween/costume parade cancelled. The students were mad; we didn’t even get to vote on it they protested and it wasn’t brought up at the PTA meeting-that’s not fair. It was a difficult to explain to them why and how this happens. But it was fun explaining what they could DO about preventing it from repeating or how to change it. When my oldest was 7 and didn’t like something we read in our local newspaper, I said write a letter. They did, in crayon complete with a self portrait. When a Vietnamese friend of our family was injured at Walmart and they refused to pay for head X-rays, my youngest absolutely refused to step foot in that place for years. We will keep agitating for justice and freedom. No matter what age we are! Love this post, we are NOT invisible!!!

You did a great job parenting! Resistance starts at home, knowing what you value and sticking up for it.
